Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi are to reunite on the Bollywood heist film Ghanchakkar. Aamir and No One Killed Jessica filmmaker Raj Kumar Gupta revealed about the characters of his upcoming release.
"Sanjay Athray [Hashmi] is a vault breaker who has taken voluntary early retirement from his profession. His current behaviour is completely like that of an elderly retired person. He attends to his small garden early in the warning, watches TV most of the day and sips quality wine at night," explained Gupta.
"Sanju's demeanor changes after he comes out of his 'retirement' to be part of a heist with some other conmen who knew an ex-partner of his. Sanju is entrusted with the loot and he forgets where it is kept."
Hashmi and Balan last shared screen space in the commercially successful Silk Smitha biopic The Dirty Picture.
Describing Balan's character, Gupta revealed: "It would be rather difficult to guess from her clothes that Neetu is a regular reader of Vogue, which she buys from the neighbourhood newspaper stand. "It would also be difficult to guess from the taste of the dishes she makes that Neetu is very fond of cooking. And it is even more difficult to guess from her sweet demeanour that a fire-brand Punjabi lies trapped inside."
The first trailer for the movie is expected to be shown alongside Himmatwala (releasing on March 29). Ghanchakkar is due to release June 21.
