What will happen to Sanjay Dutt's Films?

The news that the Supreme Court has upheld the conviction of Sanjay Dutt and sentenced him to 5 years in jail, it sent shock waves throughout the film industry. This in lieu of the fact that Dutt has quite a few high profile films in his kitty. First among those is the remake of Zanjeer directed by Apoorva Lakhia where Dutt plays Sher Khan, then there is Policegiri where Dutt plays the lead role, then there is Rensil D'Silva's multi-starrer Ungli and finally Rajkumar Hirani's P.K. starring Aamir Khan.

Commenting on the money riding on Dutt's films and the current status of these films, noted trade analyst Taran Adarsh says, "There are 4 films featuring Sanjay Dutt which are currently in various stages of production. First up there is the Hindi version of Zanjeer which Dutt has already shot for. The film is almost complete and the promos of the film are also ready. Then there is T.P.Aggarwal's Policegiri in which he is the main lead. Then there is Rensil D'Silva's Ungli which also stars Emraan Hashmi and Randeep Hooda and finally there is P.K. starring Aamir Khan. Out of these films, Policegiri is the only film in which Sanjay Dutt is in the main lead role...the rest are mainly supporting roles. I am not aware about the economics of P.K. but around Rs. 75-80 crores would be riding on the remaining 3 films (namely Hindi version of Zanjeer, Policegiri and Ungli)."

According to sources, Sanjay Dutt has only a couple of days shoot left of Rensil D'Silva's Ungli while around 15 days of shoot of Policegiri is left.

Besides these films, Sanjay Dutt was supposed to star in the third installment in the Munnabhai series. However, one doesn't know what will happen to that film now. Dutt was also supposed to do a cameo in Ghanchakkar but it's not yet sure whether he has already shot for it. Besides these films, Dutt's Sher has been stuck for a while owing to producer Shree Ashtavinayak's financial woes.
