The sunny side of Orange

Oranges are exceptionally nutritious, delicious and affordable. The reason why the first meal of the day is combined with a glass of fresh orange juice is that the amount of calories in an orange are extremely low, while its nourishment value is very high. Orange is rich in amino acids, folic acid, pectin, flavonoids, and most importantly, it contains a galore of antioxidants which is excellent for the skin.

The toning properties of Orange can improve the texture and the color of the skin. The citric acid and vitamin C that are present in the Orange can restore Collagen in your body, which will help in firming your skin and prevent ageing. The citric acid is a great source to avoid wrinkles and add softness to your skin. This will make you look ever younger and brighter.  It refreshes the skin by removing the dead cells, and cleanses the pores which will help in prevention of acne. Oranges also have Vitamin A, along with Vitamin C and helps in protecting the skin from cancer and Sun stroke. It is also used in spas for skin polish as it improves the texture of the skin.

Orange Peel Pack

For making orange facial pack, we can either use the fresh orange skin or use the peels which have been sun-dried for a few weeks until they are completely dry and brittle. However, using fresh peels seems easier for people, because it is quick &convenient and also ensures that all necessary nutrients are still present in the peel. Here is how you will make the face mask.

 Clean the orange peel with salt water so that all germs are removed.
Now put the peels in a blender and mash it up to make a thick sticky paste.
Add a tablespoon of yogurt, a few drops of lemon juice, and a teaspoon of honey or glycerin into the paste. Mix them well to allow all the ingredients to blend properly.
Before you apply the pack, wash your face with warm water.
This will open up all the pores in the skin.
Allow the pack to remain for about 45 minutes to one hour.
Leave the face for an hour and allow it to completely dry.
Wash face with cold water after an hour and gently rub the face using your fingertips.
This will remove all the dead skin and internal dirt from your face and make is fresh and appealing.
After wiping the face, apply a thin coat of facecream to avoid skin drying.
Apply this pack at least once in a week.
You can also rub the inside peel of an orange on your skin to tighten it.

Orange peel juice reduces the dandruff and oily pattern in the scalp.
