Bhapa Doi - Steamed yogurt pudding



I had a half tin of sweetened condensed milk and dahi on hand so what to make? So thought of “Bhapa Doi”,  it is nothing but sweetened steamed yogurt which too easy to make delicious to eat.


The recipe is just equal parts, sweetened condensed milk and yogurt that you steam until set. Chill and serve topped with nuts of your choice.




Ingredients:
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup thick, hung yogurt
Crashed cardamom seeds

Method:
If you don’t have thick yogurt, strain it by placing it over a sieve 20 to 30 mins until the water comes out from the yoghurt. Whisk the thick yogurt along with the milk and sweetened condensed milk. Add crashed cardamom seeds. Mix it well. Pour into a deep baking dish. Microwave for 2 mins. To ensure it is set, you can use the cake tester method and test with a skewer. Let cool to room temperature. Cover again with the plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator. Serve cold.




You can use dry nuts or as summer is here try it with chopped ripe mangoes as toppings.
