Right from the opening frame NH10 trailer where film’s lead star Anushka Sharma wielding a metal rod on a dimly lit alley to the things take a bristly turn for the couple, who set off for a road-trip, the whole trailer amps up the suspense.
Anushka seems increasingly frayed -- and increasingly deadly. The sound of that metal rod screeching against the road gives you the creeps and ensures that the story ahead is full of dark and violent elements. With Anushka Sharma, Neil Bhoopalam and Darshan Kumar in key roles, the story revolves around a couple who set out for a road trip and how their journey takes an ugly turn when they get stuck in a local town that has its own vandals.
Director Navdeep Singh -- who last made the underrated mystery Manorama Six Feet Under -- is back in gritty territory with NH10, a film that looks bloody and violent and, to be honest, pretty hard on its heroine.
NH10 releases on March 6, 2015.
Actor Sushant Singh Rajput makes a cool entry in his new avatar in the film as the Bengali detective. The film, based on the detective character Byomkesh Bakshi created by Bengali writer Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay, is directed by Dibakar Banerjee.
The movie is set in the 1940's, a period thriller with a modern, hard rock soundtrack. Adding to this the movie has Swastika Mukherjee in a pivotal role who plays the temptress, a role inspired by famous Frisian exotic dancer Mata Hari.
The film is slated to hit the screens on April 3, 2015.
